Marge Youngblood is an Independent Christian singer/songwriter/musician whose love of music began with a mother playing songs from an old Reader's Digest songbook on the piano. Growing up, her father was a school teacher who used to also organize and direct light-hearted elementary school Christmas concerts. Back at home, she remembers him always playing records and encouraging her and her siblings to dance, sing, and enjoy the music. With 7 children of her own now, she doesn't have much free time, but when she does have a moment, she enjoys playing music and singing with her children as she once did when she was little. She also appreciates simple pleasures, such as having a good cup of coffee and relaxing outside in nature.
Marge had her start in music by playing piano for church services when she was in 8th grade. She has only recently begun to delve into the world of singing and songwriting. Over the course of her career, she has played on pianos, keyboards, and pipe organs, all the while using music down every avenue she can find. Variety is the spice of her musical life. She has been involved in music with everything from church services to playing at homeless shelters and from singing the National Anthem at a ball park to writing music for a short film. She has served as a Music Director for two different churches where she has both, played and sang, English, as well as Spanish and Latin, songs and hymns.
One of her two latest projects has included the release of her EP, "Strangled Theme", featuring the songs she composed and sang for the film, "Strangled", a film based on a true story of redemption in the Lord. She also released a debut Christmas single, titled "Christmas Journey" which was also released to radio and streamed by various stations across the globe.
Though it has undoubtedly taken hard work, focus, and determination, most are surprised when they discover that this musician has had only 8 formal piano lessons when she was in 6th grade. The most important aspect for her is consistently surrendering her whole heart to God's loving direction. She strives to have Spirit-driven music that shares something deeper from her soul while lovingly encouraging others on their journey.
Her motto is Galatians 5:25: "If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit."
